Westlake University is a new type of research university in China, supported by both public and private funding. Westlake Fellows work as full-time principal investigators and have full access to Westlake’s state-of-the-art facilities for a period of three years, which can be renewed for another three years after evaluation. Start dates are flexible. This is a great opportunity for researchers to start their careers, free from the need to raise their own grant support or the distractions of classroom teaching. Westlake Fellows can also seek additional external funding. 

西湖青年学者作为全职独立实验室负责人或实验室共同负责人来校开展为期三年的研究工作。三年聘期结束后，如因科研工作需要，可申请延长三年聘期。入职日期可根据个人情况与本项目办公室和各学院协商确定。西湖青年学者可获得充足的科研启动经费，在校期间可专注于科学研究，无需花费大量的时间精力用于申请科研经费或课堂教学。但西湖青年学者也可寻求外部经费支持。

1. Nominations提名申报:

Candidates can be nominated by a senior investigator from Westlake University or other top universities & research institutions, who can provide an in-depth analysis of their accomplishments and future potential. Nominator should send the nomination form* and the full CV of the nominee to WestlakeFellows@westlake.edu.cn. If the nomination is accepted, the nominee will be invited to submit the following application materials: application form*, letter of intent, research plan (up to 2 pages) for the three-year term, three reference letters (should be sent by the referees directly to WestlakeFellows@westlake.edu.cn). We will consider your application only when all application materials are received.

西湖青年学者一般应由资深教授提名，提名人须发送提名表*和被提名人完整简历至WestlakeFellows@westlake.edu.cn，提名表中须详细阐述候选人已获得的科研成果和未来发展潜力。提名被确认后，西湖卓越学者办公室将邀请被提名人提交如下申请材料：申请表*、意向信、三年任期内的研究计划书（不超过2页）和3封推荐信（须由推荐人直接发送到WestlakeFellows@westlake.edu.cn）。如申请材料不全将不予受理。

The Program also seeks Assistant/Associate/Full Professors (or equivalent) at institutions throughout the world as Westlake Visiting Professors to Westlake campus on a short-term basis (range from one month to one year) for collaborative research, seeking to create a unique international intellectual community to break the geographical barrier for multidisciplinary research. Westlake Visiting Professors shall be nominated by Westlake University faculty members, direct applications and self-nominations are not accepted.
