主讲人/Speaker:

Dr. Yinpeng Zhong earned his B.S. from Lanzhou University in 2004, followed by a master’s degree from UCAS (University of Chinese Academy of Sciences) in 2009. He completed his doctoral studies and obtained a Dr. rer. nat. (Doctor of Natural Sciences) from Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg in 2012.From 2009 to 2020, he successively conducted research at the Max Planck Advanced Study Group, the Max Planck Institute for the Structure and Dynamics of Matter, and the Center for Free-Electron Laser Science. During this period, he participated in developing a series of pioneering experimental instruments, and prototype experiments at the FLASH in Germany, the LCLS in the United States, and the SACLA in Japan. This included the research, development, and commissioning of the internationally renowned CAMP, a pioneering free - electron laser measurement facility. Dr. Zhong also designed and developed a multi - dimensional experimental device which is capable of simultaneously measuring FEL ultrafast X - ray diffraction, resonant X - ray emission spectra, and Auger electron spectra, and was successfully commissioned at the XPP experimental station of the LCLS light source. Since 2020 he has been working at the Institute of Advanced Light Source FacilitiesShenzhenIASF

讲座摘要/Abstract:

The advent of ultrafast lasers, along with the development of time - resolved reflection, absorption spectroscopy, and nonlinear optical methods, has revolutionized the research on quantum materials, enabling scientists to explore the dynamic behaviors of materials on ultrafast time scales. Meanwhile, the continuous progress of synchrotron radiation X - ray technology allows us to clearly detect elementary excitations and collective excitation states in quantum material systems from the atomic and elemental levels within a large momentum transfer space. X - ray free - electron laser (XFEL) spectroscopy ingeniously combines the advantages of ultrafast lasers and synchrotron radiation X - ray techniques, enabling the dynamic capture of the non - equilibrium behavior details of elementary or collective excitations. However, the development of new scattering and spectroscopic techniques for XFELs cannot simply replicate the existing technologies from ultrafast optics and synchrotron radiation. Instead, it requires in - depth integration and innovative research and development.I will first review the development history of XFEL time - resolved X - ray scattering techniques, elaborating on the research significance and current status of this field. Subsequently, I will introduce in detail the design concepts, innovative features, and expected application values in future scientific research of the Shenzhen 2D spectrometer, beamline, and MDS experimental station, presenting an overview of the frontier research in XFEL technologies to the audience.
