嘉宾简介/Biography:  

Prof. Yin received B.Sc. degree in 2001, and Ph.D. degree in 2007 from Fudan University. He did postdoctoral research work at Oak Ridge National Laboratory during 2007 and 2010. In 2010, he joined department of Physics, Fudan University, as associate professor. He became full professor in 2015. His research areas are nanomagnetism, spintronics and scanning probe microscopy. He is actively working on the emergent phenomena of surface, interface and nanostructure of complex oxides. He has developed a cryogen-free STM (4.2 K) with high magnetic field (9 T).


摘要/Abstract: For most of the strongly correlated systems, including colossal magnetoresistive (CMR) manganites and high-Tc superconductors, the inhomogeneity of electronic phases are very general. Due to the strong coupling of spin, charge, orbital and lattice, the free energies of these electronic phases are quite close, resulting in a phenomenon named electronic phase separation (EPS). In the case of manganites, the characteristic length scale of EPS is material dependent, ranging from nanometer to micrometer, and the distribution of EPS is also random. EPS is important both for understanding the mechanism of strong electronic correlation and for tuning the physical properties. In this talk, I will introduce our recent progress in the manipulation of EPS of manganites. Its shape, size, density, position and distribution can be continuously tuned just in one same material, i.e. LaPrCaMnO3. These works will not only help to understand the mechanism of EPS, but also pave the way of spintronics application of manganites.
